JobBOSS ERP System for Manufacturing Companies
Are you using Quickbooks for accounting? Excel for Bills of Materials? PDFs for processes? Clipboards for record keeping? How about invoicing customers? Tracking materials? Putting jobstogether? Once a company is using more than one program to track daily build operations, it is time to consider an ERP.
ERP, or Enterprise Resource Planning, plan the use of enterprise resources to manage jobs, shifts, materials, costs, operations, processes, and more to reliably produce product output.
Sundial can provide references and testimonials of manufacturers in the weapons, volume powder coating and finishing, large scale machining, and aerospace industries successfully running on Exact’s “JobBOSS” system. JobBOSS is an excellent system for manufacturers where the bulk of their operations are in the manufacturing arena.
Out-of-the-box JobBOSS ships with modules dedicated to ERP – Quote Processing, Order Processing, job automation, and material costs. JobBOSS differs from other ERP systems oriented toward manufacturers in that it does not include accounting in its default configuration, which keeps costs down for operators that intend to keep using Quickbooks or another accounting solution.
JobBOSS offers accounting, CRM, bill of material management, and integration with accounting software as optional modules. The software is typically run in a local environment on a dedicated, or semi-dedicated, server, but can be run in a cloud or hosted configuration at a monthly cost.
Transitioning to JobBOSS without the accounting module requires little data management, as most manufacturers will be setting up automated order processing and fulfillment for the first time. The majority of the work comes when manufacturers invest the time into building and defining their processes, resource tracking, and business trend reports – everything that makes an ERP great.
If you plan to use JobBOSS for accounting, or integrate with accounting software, research must be done up front to insure a smooth transition.

Can we run JobBOSS on any computer?
JobBOSS requires a fairly robust database that will grow with your company. It is best run on a standalone server with dedicated backup, or a file server that is not overly taxed by current duties.
What does JobBOSS offer over Quickbooks?
JobBOSS is a true ERP system that offers job estimation and planning – the ability to complete jobs and repetitively bill customers automatically without having to manually configure and follow-up on invoices and work orders in Quickbooks, BUT JobBOSS does not include accounting functionality out-of-the-box, although it can be configured as an additional module.
